CARD CASE York Minster Joseph Willmore 1851

A very fine Victorian silver ‘Castle Top’ Card Case of shaped rectangular form with hinged flip-top lid and chased and embossed foliate scroll decoration on a matt background, the front with superbly detailed raised and chased scene depicting YORK MINSTER in high relief. Vacant rococo scroll shaped cartouche to reverse. York Minster is the seat of the Archbishop of York and the cathedral is one of the largest in Europe.
