CARD CASE Balmoral Hilliard & Thomason 1862

An extremely rare Victorian silver ‘Castle Top’ Card Case of shaped rectangular form with hinged flip-top lid and chased and embossed foliate scroll decoration on a matt background, the front with raised and chased scene depicting BALMORAL CASTLE in high relief. Vacant shield shaped cartouche to reverse. Balmoral is the Scottish Royal residence so beloved and purchased by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1852.
