SAMPSON MORDAN HORN VINAIGRETTE
A very fine Victorian silver Vinaigrette in the form of a horn, with applied bands of raised scroll linked decoration, the hinged top opening to reveal a silver gilt interior with pierced hinged grille, screw off base, with attached suspension chains.
By Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1872. Diamond registration mark to interior lid.
In fine condition with no damage or repair.

GIULLANO BROTHERS BLOODSTONE & GOLD VINAIGRETTE c1910
A very fine early 20th century gold mounted bloodstone and enamel egg shaped Vinaigrette, with intricately pierced grille and attached suspension chain.
Tiny Maker’s mark plaque to interior rim of grille – ‘C&AC’ for Carlo and Arthur Giullano c1910. From the world famous retail jewellery firm of Castellani & Giullano.
In good condition with just minor loss of enamel to central black enamel bands, the gold and stone work in superb crisp condition.

UNKNOWN CHURCH VINAIGRETTE Nathaniel Mills 1848
An extremely rare Victorian silver Vinaigrette of elongated rounded rectangular form with shaped borders and scrolled thumbpiece, the base engraved with bands of engine turned decoration and a cartouche engraved with initials, the lid engraved with a scene of an unknown and untraced Church, silver gilt interior with foliate scroll pierced grille.
By Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1848.
In fine condition with no damage or repair.

GILT VINAIGRETTE ABBOTSFORD HOUSE Taylor & Perry 1835
An extremely fine William IV silver gilt “Castle Top” Vinaigrette of rounded rectangular form with raised foliate borders, the base and sides with crisp engine turned decoration and a vacant cartouche, the lid with a chased and engraved view in high relief depicting Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott, from across the river Tweed. The silver gilt interior with finely pierced foliate scroll grill with a flowerhead. Complete with original sponge. This is rarer view of Abbotsford than the more commonly seen view from the front of the house.
By Taylor & Perry, Birmingham 1835.
